Example: Comparing 2 Excel files

This article shows how to use the Excel engine to compare 2 different Excel files and have the differences shown in the Execution result

Situation

You want to compare 2 Excel files and log the differences into the result

Solution

This can be achieved by the baseline comparison:

baseline

It is important, that both TestSteps have the exact same name, since the name is the basis of the baseline file's name.

See the attached subset (created with Tosca Version 8.3.0)  and the accompanying Excel files for a demonstration on how this can be accomplished

Hi,

Thanks for sharing this !

I am facing the below issue while using the above methods in while loop for Excel file Comparisons.

The filenames are passed through 2 buffers, I have checked that these buffers are getting values.

Can you please let me know what can be the reason for below issue?
