How to handle Scroll Bar In tosca

Hi All,

When I am trying to Xscan objects it is doing properly ,but when i am trying to run that it is clicking somewhere else because of Scroll bar is not moving up.

So let's take an example if i had done a xscan of logout it will be in upper right corner of the screen the xscan says it is identified properly but we are going to run that that will try to hit the object on Logout but it will hit somewhere else as scroll bar does not move .Is it Scanning using X Y coordinate?

1)-(so how we are handling scroll bar in tosca) ?

2) -(and how we are getting dynamic changing values from application)-->using buffer ,constraints and regular Expression ? or we have some more features for that.

3)-(how to pass different sets of data for the same script) like for loop we use in other tools .

If Anyone can please answer these question i will really appriciate that because i am new to this tool ...:)

Thank you

Hi Nitin,

Please make sure that the "Logout" button in your xmodule has a technical id which facilitates unique identification of the control. I am saying this because, in my experience, even if the control (in your case, the logout button) is not directly visible on the screen because of scrolling, TOSCA would still be able to click on the control without any problems.

Maybe you can try changing the Domclick preoperty of the logout control from True to False. Try this and let us know how it goes. Even after the change, if you are still facing the same problem, instead of trying to capture the scroll bar, please use the TBox Send Key to send the {Home} key to the web application and after that try clicking on the log off button. This is easier.

For your second question about buffering/dynamic buffering, please refer the following topics present in the online manual, everything you need to know about buffering is there in this:

https://documentation.tricentis.com/en/930/content/articles/buffer_this.htm

For your third question about passing different data to the same script (data driven framework), it can be implemented using either the TestCase Design (Red part) add-in or using Microsoft Excel as data sheet as well. Please refer my answer to another question on the forum, about this:

https://support.tricentis.com/community/article.do?number=KB0012512

Hope this helps.

Rahul

Hi Nitin,

To overcome with this situation, you can use Image based Control Module.

This module you can find in Module section in TOSCA Commander. Right click on any folder in Module section then you will find Create Image based Control.

Once you click on it, you will find one pop up window, in order to handle scroll bar, you need to capture particular location and save it.

Please let me know if you face any issue.

Thanks

Hi,

1) Do one thing for the particular module attribute give Steering Paramter(Green box) named User Simulation  value True.

Hi, Try this Tosca setting and try to perform the same action.

Settings -> Tbox -> Engines -> XBrowser -> ScrollingBehavior

set the value to "Scroll to top". Hope this resolve this issue.
