Chrome can not be accessed by the scan. Please make sure that the permissions are set accordingly.

Situation

Solution

-) Please check if the "TOSCAAutomationService" is running, you can check that in your Task Manager's "Services" tab. If not, please start the service. 

 

-) Are you using the latest supported browser version? You can check all supported browser versions in our manual under “System Requirements”. 

 

-) Has the browser been started in the same user context as Tosca? Please also check that in your Task Manager in column "User name" of the Details tab.

 

-) Is the port entered under "Used websocket port:" open and not used by another process? -> Open the page chrome://extensions/ in chrome, find our extension and click "Options".

 

-) Is the port written under the value-tag in the Tricentis.Automation.RelayService.exe.config open and not used by another process? -> Open the file "%TRICENTIS_HOME%\Tricentis.Automation.RelayService.exe.config" in any text editor and find the line "<setting name="ChromeRelayServer" serializeAs="String">"
The port of the WebSocket Server match the port of the setting ChromeExtensionServer in the Tricentis.Automation.RelayService.exe.config file. (https://support.tricentis.com/community/manuals_detail.do?lang=en&version=11.0.0&url=engines_3.0/xbrowser/xbrowser_scan.htm)

 

-) In the browser window, click on the 3-dot-menu button and select the option More tools -> Extensions. Enable the checkbox next to the option 'Allow access to file URLs'.  ( https://support.tricentis.com/community/article.do?number=KB0012580 )

 

-) Verify that you do not have multiple versions of the Automation add-on installed.

 

-) You may also want to check if the extension is the same version as the Tosca installation 

 

-) To confirm that the extension was successfully installed, click on the Tosca symbol next to the address bar and the status message Automation possible! should appear.

 

-) Please make sure not too many tasks are running in the background while scanning. If so, please clear them. 

 

-) Try to restart your machine and scan again. 

 

-) Reinstall the extension and restart your machine.

 

-) Install the extension manually. Please refer to https://support.tricentis.com/community/article.do?number=KB0012580
