How to add leading zero(es) to numbers

You have a number and want to add leading zeroes.

Situation

This article explains how to add leading zeroes to numbers.

For example, sometimes you might deal with numbers that do not have the same number of digits, however the system requires a fixed length for all numbers.

Solution

Use the CALC function.

Note that CALC only works when Excel is installed on the machine.

In TBox, the syntax would be like this:

{CALC[TEXT(""""{B[MyValue]}"""","""0000000000""")]}

In classic, the syntax would be like this:

{CALC[TEXT("{B[MyValue]}","0000000000")]}

The number of zeroes in this expression is the total number of digits that you need.

Very valuable for reading numbers from TDS! Leading zeros always get lost. SO i can restore them.
