HOW TO PRINT STANDARD REPORT AFTER TEST EVENT HAS BEEN TRIGGERED THROUGH TOSCA CI

How to print standard report after test event has been triggered through Tosca CI

Situation

You want to generate a report once the test event has been triggered through CI.

Solution

Follow the steps below:

-) Create a .tcs file with below content. Here, we are jumping to the execution list, doing a print report task and saving the file.

updateall

//navigate to Execution List
jumptonode "Node path of the execution list"

//Print report
task "Print Report ... ExecutionEntries with ActualLog"

//Save your files
C:\\Users\\Test\\Example.pdf

-) Then create a batch file with below content. First command is to trigger the test event (CITestExecutionConfiguration.xml will contain the test event name). Second command is the TC Shell command to trigger the .tcs file which indeed will jump to the execution list and print a repot.

Here, CI will wait untill the test event is been executed and once the test event is completed TC shell will be triggered.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\TRICENTIS\Tosca Testsuite\ToscaCI\Client\ToscaCIClient.exe" -m distributed -c "C:\Program Files (x86)\TRICENTIS\Tosca Testsuite\ToscaCI\Client\CITestExecutionConfiguration.xml" -r "C:\result.xml"

TCShell.exe -workspace "Path of the workspace" -login "Username" "Password" "C:\Users\shitr\Downloads\Vatan\AutomationScriptRun_v_01.tcs"

Please check the online manual to know more about CI and TC Shell.

Hi Vatan,

Thanks for the article. We have done the basic setups for Tosca CI. Able to trigger DEX Test event from Jenkins successfully. As mentioned in the article, tried getting standard report once test event has been triggerred.

Not sure which node path to be given in 'JumptoNode' section.

We have 1 Test Event having 3 Executiont Lists.

Kindly help on the same.

Thanks,

Ravi

Sorry for the late reply. You can have one jumptonode at a time.

If you have 3 execution list, then you have to run .tcs file 3 times, one by one for all 3 execution list.

Thank you.

Hi Vatan,

Thanks for the response. You said that,

You can have one jumptonode at a time. If you have 3 execution list, then you have to run .tcs file 3 times, one by one for all 3 execution list.

In that case, I will be having 3 pdf reports right. Ideally, it should not be like that. We would need one report for the Test event. The test event might have any number of execution lists. Is that my understanding correct here? If so, please help on the same. How to get the Print report from Test event which is linked with multiple execution lists?

Appreciate your help on this.

Thanks.

Hi Ravi,

In the same .tcs file you canb try with having 3 Jumptonode one after the other and try it out. If you have any further issues please raise the incident so that we can further assist you.

Thank you,
